  • Here’s why I’d rather be Michael Jordan than Larry Bird. William Faulkner is the greatest American author of all time. He wrote As I Lay Dying, an astounding multi narrative work on the human condition with some of the most intense, high octane prose in only 6 weeks. He was better than Hemingway, Poe, Twain, Fitzgerald, Melville, Emerson, Whitman, Thoreau, Hawthorne, and anyone else you read in your high school American Lit class. But he was a drunk. Most great writers were. One time, after he finished a novel, he went out on a bender. He was gone for a few days, maybe a week. While he was away, he missed his daughter’s birthday. She confronted him about it when he returned. She asked him “why weren’t you here for my birthday?” He looked her right in the face and without hesitation said, “nobody remembers Shakespeare’s kids.” To his own daughter. Cold. Blooded. He’s right, though. Only people who know basketball know Larry Bird. People know Michael Jordan by his name alone, and that name is synonymous with greatness.

  • You gotta talk about Stephen A Smith and Carmelo getting Phil Jackson fired in New York. He suggested that protests should happen at MSG against Phil. Phil had a vision for the NYKs, he just needed time. And Melo was one of the best Triple Threat Post scores of all time. The Triangle would’ve helped him win, he didn’t wanna listen. Andrew you gotta Address it

  • Man Andrew is really starting to annoy me. Akaash and Alex need to step out of their Beta positions and check this guy more. He talks so patronising to them like he's this intellectual giving them wisdom and most time he's fucking wrong! He'll get one idea that he thinks is a great take, no matter how flawed it is, and then brings it to the podcasts and then tries convincing everyone what he thinks is right. And IF he gets push back (usually from Charla) the most he can do is agree to disagree.

    HamsterK1977HamsterK19776 oy oldin
    • @HamsterK1977 ..but it's *ME* who has to have the last word. enjoy.

      Ulysses432Ulysses4326 oy oldin
    • @Ulysses432 ugh,, you're one of those commenters. You just have to be the last word, and you think your POV is always the right one. Now, you'll notice I never said he told them he didn't want to be on the team. I'm sure that's how you read it though. I said he was the reason. When he says it was a stipulation put him, it means they told him Thomas wouldn't be on the team to coax to say yes. Here's some reading material that states Jordan may have been and definitely was the reason, which is what I said: www.vintagedetroit.com/blog/2018/12/12/the-story-behind-isiah-thomas-being-left-off-the-dream-team/ www.si.com/nba/cavaliers/nba-amico/miller-jordan-thomas-dream-team www.basketballnetwork.net/the-real-reason-why-isiah-thomas-was-left-off-the-1992-dream-team/

      HamsterK1977HamsterK19776 oy oldin
    • @HamsterK1977 No he wasn't..but he wasn't in the line of succession when the Select Committee was recruiting the first players. Their first priority was to get Larry and Magic because they knew if they got them, then Jordan would have a hard time saying "no" out of respect. And in Magic's book, he openly admits he told them he didn't want to play with Isiah. The Selection Team IS on record saying that "the taste of Isiah walking off the court with time left was still fresh in our minds". Then Jordan says..."it was put to me that the decision to leave Isiah Thomas off the team was coming from 'higher powers' ". So, by the only accounts verifiable and credible, Isiah was off the team before they even asked MJ.

      Ulysses432Ulysses4326 oy oldin
    • @Ulysses432 yeah, I just Googled it, and it's definitely a story of contention, but after watching the first episodes of 'The Last Dance', I can see it. Jordan definitely wasn't someone that held back his feelings and demands.

      HamsterK1977HamsterK19776 oy oldin
    • @Hamsterk1977 I wish he was, but he wasn't.

    Arya A.Arya A.6 oy oldin
  • 57:00 you missed the whole point they wouldn't fire Krause if Jordan said do it, they basically fired the whole team. They resented Michael in many way. Both Jerry's wanted it blow up in 98.

    1D4ever1D4ever6 oy oldin
    • @1D4ever That's just not true and I don't know what source you're working from on that. Reinsdorf bought the team to make money and he was making more money than ever before. His negotiation to pay Jordan $30M a year took exactly 1 day. The next year, he gave him a raise. It's STILL the biggest contract every signed in sport (w/ inflation). By accounts, Jordan was done. Krauss' ego, wsa firing Phil. But Jordan was sick of things too. He said dealing with Dennis was like dealing with his 8 year old girl where he literally had to hold his face in his hands to get him to listen to him. Jordan was 37 and had already retired once because of the fishbowl he lived in. And each championship got harder. He made his famous post-game speech about defending what they had the previous year. By accounts, Jordan was resigned that it was over.

    DavidDavid6 oy oldin
  • I'm really sad to hear this from you, who your rather be? , since when you soft Akaashsingh. Jordan isn't from our generation, he's different. We need to show people how happy we're. Jordan don't show his personal life never did. And I'm sure he's happy with he's family and if not so what. Honestly you guys sound to bitchy and Karen like this time. Soft 🤮

I don’t think melo is on brons or Jordan’s level but I firmly believe if he was in the same position as Kd he could’ve done the same maybe better Kobe while playing in 2012 said melo was the hardest person in the league to guard that holds merit
